What is Reuse Depot?

The Reuse Depot is a campus-wide material reuse service that combines a mobile web experience with a QR code system to help students donate, discover, and reuse art materials more easily.

I contributed to stakeholder research and synthesis, then took primary responsibility for translating the findings into key design decisions, user flows, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes.

Design goal

Design an accessible digital service that makes campus art material reuse easier to discover, understand, and participate in.

Pain points

  • Many students were unaware of the Reuse Depot or how it worked.
  • Students could not check material availability before visiting.
  • Limited funding restricted physical and operational improvements.

How might we make reuse feel less complicated?
